New Rushmore Section
Special Status? It's a new bike with it's own particular problems, why shouldn't they be discussed in their own area, are you saying because we have the newer bikes we have "special status"?
"a sticky"? I don't understand your point.
I'm glad (I guess) you live where you live although again I don't understand your point.
"folks like me"? I've never been to Sturgis and have no plans to go there. I'd like to ride the area as I hear you have some beautiful riding roads there but that's it for me, no bar posing, just riding.
If you say people that go to Sturgis are "pompous asses", I'll take you at your word, again, I've never been (and will never be) there.
"...stay home" ?????
Maybe you should lighten up a bit, it's just a section for the newer bikes, nothing else. And it's open to comments from all, I'm sure when you or anyone else enters the market for a new bike it will be very helpful going to this section for info.
I belong to a Corvette Forum and when Chevrolet introduced the next generation Vette late last year, they got their own C7 section in that Forum, I don't remember anyone calling them elitist or pompous. It was just a new car with it's own issues and most people appreciated the fact that these issues were being addressed in their own section. Same here with the Rushmore models, nothing else...
Hence the comment pompous asses.
Did you read the other's comments?
Many HD owners/(Corvette owners, and I'm sure we could say many others as well) have this same attitude of being snobs or a "better than" because of what they have.
The sticky for the 14's is already there.
I don't really see the point in bringing up a thread to acknowledge what is already there?
Oh and I don't IUOE anything ROB.
I'm sorta new around here, having just bought my first HD, but I've been riding and racing for over 44 years. I can't believe the pettiness and materialism going on here. These bikes are all classics, right? We are all privileged to ride freshly produced American classics that are beloved the world over, and yet what I see in the dealerships is a continual recycled batch of two-year-old trade ins, disposed of in a lot of cases for the stupidest of reasons: it wasn't the "latest and greatest." The refinements on the 2014 bikes were just a business move by the Motor Company, something they had to do with the Indians arriving.
I've ridden an 09 SG and now my 14 SG, and the essential experience of riding the bikes is the same. Not a big deal. If guys are exclaiming that their new bikes are the Best Ever or that they Love the bikes, well for Christ's sake Be Happy For Them! For many of us, the dream of owning a new Harley just happened, and our time in the vast history of the Universe happened to be 2014. So, rejoice for your Brothers who just landed themselves a 2014 HD and think it's the best bike they've owned.
Like I said, I really hope you were just kidding.
Hence the comment pompous asses.

And IUOE is my Union affiliation, 40 years an Operating Engineer and very proud of it...
Sounds like you have some issues Buddy, you might want to talk to someone about that...
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Just mosey on over to your own section, to the 14's that your so excited to have.
