This is correct. Making changes to the speedometer calibration has no effect on the odometer. I tried various settings (real high and low) using my PV for the speed calibration and it has zero effect on the odometer readout.
I'll take your word for it, but wouldn't mind hearing from other folks too. When I did the Iron Butt last year, my odometer was off by 45 miles (more miles) as compared to others in my group...that's 4.5% over. I figured the Powervision speedo adjustment took care of the odometer at the same time.
Me and the wife just got back from a little 80 mile ride. We gassed up and set our trip meters to 0. Her 2014 SGS with 300 miles got 80.0 exactly and my 2013 EG ultra limited with 9000 miles got 78.4 both bikes have original tires. That seems to me, like that is too big a difference. The only variable I see is the tread depth on the tires. 1.6 mile difference I'm confused
Tire wear could account for that kind of difference

Must be an issue with your bike, because it sure made a difference on the 4 I've done (with TTS and PV).

Everything 'measurable' has tolerances. A speedometer may be accurate fro 30-40MPH....1% off before or after that speed. A clock with a full wind up (Old clocks) or
a new battery may be more accurate than a clock with a battery that is older.
A ruler may be more accuate when new than old (wear and tear on the ends) same as a tape measure that the rivet that holds the end on can enlongate).
Sorry your odometer is not correct.....you have an air temperature gage? That will drive you nuts!
