Default Torque Spec Primary Drain Plug

I noticed while reading through my owners manual today that the torque spec for the primary chain case drain plug calls for the same spec as the engine oil and the transmission. I know on my Dyna that I just traded it wasn't and I know that there were some issues due to improper torque spec and damaging internal parts due to too much torque. Does anyone know if what is printed in the owners manual is incorrect??

Your DANA maybe was like my 04 and had a 1/4 tapered thread pipe plug. The newer bikes have the same 1/2 straight thread MS o-ring seal port plug on all three drains. It torques on the face. The o-ring goes into the bevel. Does yours say 14-21 ft/lbs? I just run it up and bump it with my palm. I know my 08 Dana service manual has all three as the MS plug with the 14-21 ft/lbs. My 04 service manual has mine as a ms but I think it has an 03 cover on it with the tapered plug.

I had an 06 Dyna and the plugs were all made the same. I'm not sure. I just found it different.
