Lowers comfortable riding temps down into the lower 40's for me as well. I do wish mine had the vents....

This is what I bought, albeit they were a little cheaper last fall. Quality is excellent. If soft lowers are what you are looking for I would contact them as I believe they can make anything you like. They could even have a '14 template already.

I have a set of soft lowers for my Road King. In bad weather they keep quite a lot of road grime off you and the bike. On long journeys, they really help with the overall comfort.

They do sod all for buffeting though - you need fangs...

Im on a Road Glide so the buffeting from under the fairing is much worse than batwing bikes but IMO lowers are a must have if you want comfort. They almost eliminate wind from under and around the tank. Mine went on and have not come off, as others have said in the summer I remove the vent doors completely and they are OK even in my area (desert) with temps in the 100s.

Other option is the GADS , they are coming out with a deflector for the batwing bikes that will be similar to what they make for the sharknose bikes, a deflector that goes from the top of the engine guard to the bottom of the tank to redirect the air. Also their lower triple tree deflector GADS LTTD is less $ and better designed than the HD one

Why oh why do we even bother riding motorcycles with all the darn wind bothering us ??? Maybe a nice prius would be better??? Or a Wing ??? haha.
I like my soft lowers and "ashtray and will have hard lowers someday. I just picked up the deflectors that mount to the forks and plan to use them on long trips. I do not mind the buffeting and wind for short rides say under 300 miles but it sure can get old on a long trip, especially if it is real cold.

Lowers are a big plus on the RG. Little to no buffeting. Plus I put 6.5" speakers in them.

I really like the 14 lowers vent. When you open it up, it opens wider and doesn't get in the way of your feet like the pre-14 vent did.
I don't think there is any need to remove the vent door on the new ones.

I just ordered vented HD lowers for SGS. My 05 SEEG never had buffeting like my SGS, so I ordered lowers.
