You know... you are right. I asked the dealer to take them off before I signed the paper work. It appeared that the previous owner was "height challenged" so he wanted the covers. I took a look before I signed and the lids were flawless.

Anyway, thanks for the replies. I am 6'3 so I don't anticipate any mishaps with the boots but it is good to hear opinions. Bottom line I am not out any cash either way.

I dig flames, but...and don't take this the wrong way, but those are kinda fugly.

My motto has always been: It is better to regret NOT doing something than regret DOING something. In other words,,,if you have any doubt, better NOT to do it.

So; I would go with covers without flames.
