Default with without light on tourpac?

I have a King Tourpac from the AMF era. It has lights on the lower edges but no other ones.
I ended up with the wrap around lights from an ultra tourpac my Dad smashed and we stripped the usable parts from.
I am all for extra visibility and have no problem cutting the tourpac to accept the rear lights, it would actually help as there is a great big hole for an antennae I will have to repair if I do not run the lights.

So my question is for those who care to reply would you install the lights or leave it plain ?

Ted...one thing to consider is those lights will take up some room and you should get a liner to cover the wires..If its an old box does it have the three inside compartments molded inside? If it does than a standard liner wont work....If you are going to do all that work, couldnt you pick up an old fiberglass ultra that needs some work and sell yours?

I'd light it up. Anything you can do to keep those blind, phone-talkin' bastages off your azz is a good thing.

Some of the older AMF Tour Packs can bring some real good money ... Why not put a feeler out for what it might be worth and you might get enough to get a late model one with the light already on ... just my .02 cents worth

…. i'm all for more lights in back
…… but i'm agreeing' w/ UncleLarry….. intact, old AMF trunks have real value to restorers, while discarded Ultra Paks (w/ lights & harnesses installed) are everywhere on ebay.

Well I could sell it but it is not in the best of shape. Needs paint real bad and has some funky fresh trim on the top, imagine chrome cones with a steel chrome rod running through them, I dig em and will keep them.

It sure does have the 3 molded pockets in it. I thought about cutting them out but will probably keep them. It also has a repair done poorly so when I prep for paind I will properly perform a fiberglass repair.

It had just one latch that needs a key, I took it apart and had a key made, 4 bucks.

I had one latch from my Dads wrecked TP and adapted it to this one, I need one more and I also have nice hinges when I redo it.

I could make a liner pretty easy, glue in.

I only paid 50 bucks for it and was using it the same day, I used the luggage rack and 3 layers of plywood to make it work. It was too high ! I now have the TP detachable rack but still had to make spacers to raise it for clearing the Cop bags I have.

I am still on the fence but I do like more light for sure. I thought about getting some Whelen lights for ambulances and cop cars and mounting them but they are not the best looking things but man are they bright.

Anyone have the template for install of the light bar ?
