Default windshields

Can anyone tell me if the new style windshields from Klockwerks or LRS are any better than stock? I love the way they look but not gonna spend the money if they don't work.

Just got an LRS for my street glide special last week and there is significantly less buffeting. I tried the HD windsplitter and didn't notice a big difference over stock, but I'm almost 6'3" and the 7" wasn't really tall enough for me. The LRS it's only 8" and it's a big difference. My girlfriend who is clueless about that sort of thing asked if I changed something because there was a lot less wind, that confirmed my biased opinion that there was an actual difference.

I have a LRS... not sure which model. Short enough I can see well over the top. It flips up at the top, deflecting wind out of my face. The shield in my sig pic caused the wind to flow just over the top of my helmet (5"10"). The LRS is a few inches shorter, but deflects he wind over my helmet due o the curve. Hope this helps.

I want to get rid of the "buffeting". For me it's really not to bad with the stock windshield but could be better. My wife gets hit real hard with the wind and I am hoping to make it better for her. I am 5'10 and my bike has the stock shield, how ever tall that is. It also has the stock seat. is there a seat that doesn't put the passenger up so high? This is my first "newer bike" so I have alot to learn. The newest I've owned before this one was an 85 Classic. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

search "buffeting" in the touring section! the shields like LRS, Aero, Klockwerks are all better than stock styles

I replaced the 14 SGS windshield with the 7" LRS. I'm 5'11", and it is much better, but not enough. I am thinking about taller still.

The turbulence pushes my beard, upwards into my eyes. Even some when I tie it together.

Don't know what to do with this info. Just tonight, went shopping with more than what would fit in the bags. Road home with an approx 12"x12"x12" package on the tank/between my legs. When I placed my arm on top of that package, my beard stayed down, and didn't move much at all. Without my arm there, beard still pushed up some, but don't think as much as normal, without a package.

I might start playing around with a tankbag.

The fairing vents and/ or lowers should help. Most of the airflow we feel is from underneath. I'm considering the fairing vents, but I'm waiting on the weather to break so I can see how the 7" Windsplitter does first.

I didn't mean to post twice but being relatively new to posting I couldn't find the first one. I'll figure this out eventually. Thanks for all the info. I'm pretty sure I'll get an LRS on account of the price difference.
