Default What do you guys use for GPS?

I have tried all the free GPSs like google maps on my iphone, telenav, ect,.,ect. I really like the Harley Ride Planner, but unless you synch with a GPS you don't have voice guidance, I guess I will have to buy a GPS.

A map.

Seriously though I do mostly. I run a magnetic map pouch on the tank and have the map of the area and turns and tips listed. I also carry complete maps of anywhere I travel.

The Garmin is in the bags just in case ! I usually will pull it out and check if for some reason I become unfamiliar with my location, there is nothing more comforting than to know exactly where you are standing when low on fuel !

I've been using a Garmin Nuvi 550 for the last fours years, it's one of the cheapest waterproof units that you can find; it does not have the bells and whistles that the high price units have.

The thing I like about the Harley Ride planner is that it seems to have roads that the others I have tried don't list as an option. Has anyone synched a ride to their GPS from Harley? Thanks for all the replies so far!

I don't have a GPS yet but I really need one.As much as I'd like to have a real motorcycle GPS I really can't afford one.I ordered a nice mount from T & T fabrications and I'll probably just get a Garmin Nuvi and plug it into my cig lighter adapter on the batwing.I just hate being lost, as much as I'd like an MP3 player and spoken directions piped into the stereo can live without it I just want to be able to get to my destination and find my way home.I can get a brand new Nuvi wth a 5" screen for 85$ on Ebay.At that price I'll probably have to buy the charger/adapter for it but I can live with that.

I have an excellent knowledge of the roads within a couple hundred miles of me, but nothing beats a Thomas Guide...that said, I have a couple of Garman nuvis... and I'm gonna mount one of them to my handlebars soon. But for stopping and looking where I'm at, the cell phone navigator works very well as long as I have a signal. If I don't, I've never been told by my Thomas Guide that it's looking for a signal! The paper map also is faster and more convenient for me. Call me dinosaur, but it works for me!

I like maps and use the mini Rand-McNally that comes with my HOG pack each year.

I use my iphone when I want or need to

Youneedamap is a free app which stores maps for US and Canadia, for when you are out of range

google earth is good to review whether a road is paved or not...on a paved road ypu can make out center lane markings

no added costs

I DO NOT need turn by turn

I'm old I guess, I just turn down a road and see where it goes.

We used to have a saying, "I may be slightly confused but I'm never lost!"
