Hello- New to the forum-- 2002 Roadking-pretty much stock with lots of chrome- Can someone tell me the replacement parts for the headlight and the front passing lamp?-- I have one passing lamp out and the headlight has developed some kind of a fog on the inside. These are sealed beam lamps. I think the oem lamps are Bosch. Perhaps someone knows of a good quality replacment lamp too and a resonable place to purchase. Thanks for your help!!
I think you can "upgrade" to the "newer" (Like an '05) style passing lamps. The connector is different but it comes with a plug converter of some type. It's the clear lens vs the frosted lens. Same probably goes for the headlight.
If you have sealed beams is the spots, H-D has a conversion kit to use H3 capsule bulbs, they'll accept a 35 watt halogen with no wiring upgrade needed.
or you can get sealed beams at NAPA
the Bosch headlight/ reflector on that bike should be an H4/ 9003 type taking a capsule bulb.
Some might suggest swapping to an "E Code" such as a Hella but Euro spec headlights have a wider spread between low beam and high beam lens...if the low beam is set the way we are used to, the high beam will point at the tree tops, not down the road. Euro spec is to point the low beam fairly close to the vehicle, that way their high beams shoot down the road. It is really easy to overdrive the low beam with an E code.
the reflector can be cleaned by swishing vinegar around inside it, don;t use a brush or stick a cloth in there.
follow up by rinsing with distilled water a couple of times.
if the reflector is damaged, lots of guys upgrade to LEDS and put the stockers on the classifieds cheap.
I just picked up a pretty good deal on the dual halogen headlamp. It's a little better than the H4

Both the headlight and the passing lights are sealed beams on my 02 RK. I'l like to go back with the same type stock lights but try to find a better price than at the HD dealer.
For those interested, The passing/spot lights are sealed beamed-they are wagner #4449-no longer made-Candlepower makes a 4449 sealed beam replacement however. Still searching for a replacement for the main Bosch 7" headlight.-It is a true sealed beam light-no rubber backing like some have indicated- Apparently Harley used other headlights during that era -some had the rubber backing that can sometimes be carefully pried off to convert to a bulb type replacement-not mine. Does anyone know if a standard H6024 car headlight will work?--Thanks

According to what I've looked up ( after questioning what you stated about yours having a "sealed beam" ) you should have a lens assy with the replaceable light bulb ( halogen H-4 type ) for your headlight. Here's the listing and part numbers. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....BLY-W/-NACELLE
As far as the passing lamps are concerned yours may/should be sealed beams and there are other options for lights that will definitely make the world brighter at night.
Car parts stores still sell 7 inch sealed beam halogen headlights. Oddly, they sell for about the same as the replaceable H4 capsules. The brighter ones are more expensive. Replacing the sealed beam will run between $10 and $25 depending on what you choose. Up grading to the H4 style unit will be much more expensive. My King has the capsule type lights in both mane and spot positions. I have run an 80/100 watt bulb in the main light with no trouble but upgrading the spots from the 17 watt factory bulb to the 35 watt option made the reflector closest to the bulb turn black, looked like a soot track from a candle flame, not very big but it bothered me. Currently available 80/100 watt H4 bulbs don't seem to last very long, have gone back to the 55/60 since I don't run at night very much. Caution, the brighter the filament in a given wattage, the shorter the life. If you want the brightest bulb you may wind up buying a new bulb every year for $50 each or more. Ebay or Amazon might have good condition used late mode headlight and spot units from the guys who have decided to go LED, or this may be your chance to go that way-high dollar, though.
