Can't find anything in search, except for one comment said lowering brackets can crack swing arm.
Problem: I have a 2013 Ultra Limited that is just about 1" too tall. Can't see spending several hundred dollars for lowering shocks (has air adjustable stocks now) or even a new seat (love the stock seat). Saw some lowering brackets on eBay priced $20-$40.
Can anyone talk intelligently about whether or not this is an acceptable alternative? If it's not a good idea I'll probably just live with the stock height as opposed to spending a pile of cash for a 1" ride drop.

Lowering blocks are fine.
* stop looking at the cheap ones tho. Burly, LA Choppers, Etc. make MUCH better units...and they can be had for between $100-$150.
I bought mine off Fleabay. They cost me about $50 and I've had them on the bike for a few years now. No problems at all. It makes a difference when you can sit flatfooted when stopped at a light. The shocks are the proper way to go but the lowering brackets work fine.
your going to get many opinions on the use of lowering bracket. i have mine 2 inches lower than stock on my '13 street glide with 1000+ miles of trouble free results with the brackets. rides a little 'harsher'
most 100$ ones are the exact same as the 30$ ones on the ebay. do your homework before you buy! i dont see you having any issue with the 1'' drop.
as long as its a 2009 or newer.. Your wires for taillights is on the side of fender not inside.. You will rub the wires. Or move the wires to the outside of fender.. Rides a little rougher. but worth it to have your feet flat at a light.
