Default Marelli to carb conversion

First- sorry for asking the same old question. I can't seem to find the exact answer I think I need.

Obviously as the thread states I'm in the middle if starting the efi-carb conversion in my 2000rk. That being said. I'm confused on the harness and ignition. Because I'm on a budget I planned on using a stock ignition, however I'm unsure on which harness because I'd the cam sensor. Anyone have any input? I thought I would needs specific 2000 ignition but can't find the answer. Thanks in advance for any help.

Kyle

32435-00 harness and the DTT ignition module does the trick. Don't need the cam position sensor as DTT takes care of it internally, just disconnect connector at ignition module and wiretie out of the way. Pinged makes the fuel conversion plugs for the tank and you can leave the fuel gauge stuff alone and it will still function. Here's a list I copied from another forum it will get you what you need if going with a cv carb. Don't know about the prices though.

Engine mount (with slot for choke) ……. 16315-99 $5.51
Choke cable ……. 29229-88B $8.80
Choke elbow ……. 27580-88 $2.18
Choke boot ……. 27582-88 $1.78
Intake manifold ……. 27613-99 $22.43
Manifold seals ……. 26995-86B $1.51 X 2
Seal ring (carb/manifold)…… 27002-89 $4.91
Ignition Harness ……. 32435-00 $104.43
Manifold sensor (MAP) ……. 32316-99 $26.95
Manifold sensor seal ……. 11291 $0.99
Retaining clip ……. 38723-99 $0.13
Retaining clip screw ……. 68042-99 $0.85
Stock Petcock- 61338-94D $53.00
Stock CV40 Carb- 27412-99D $168.00
MM EFI Tank Conversion from Pingel $40.00
Screamin' Eagle Ignition 32721-01A $157.02

Better a CV carb -96 or earlier than the -99

supposed to be better metering in the idle circuit

most will want to do the usual sportster needle and swap the jets. 48 and 185 to start

Thanks for all the help. So if I'm on a budget and can't afford the dtt ignition can I used a 01 ignition module and harness and not hook up the CPS? I think that's where my confusion starts.

Buddy of mine goes to a wrench in mid-Missouri, they converted his 2000 RK with EFI to a later EFI rather than deal with his old set up or conversion to carb when they built is as a 107, they got it as reliable as a new Delphi but I cannot remember whose system it was.

Other than the Pingel conversion kit, are all the part numbers Harley numbers?

You'll have to use a Carb ign module, and if I remember you still need the CPS. The difference if price between the OEM and DTT isn't that great and the DTTis the last module you'll ever need. You do have a Service manual right? It will defiantly help with this and all future upgrades.

Yep! I'd also suggest using a Pingel petcock. Just remember to block off the vacuum outlet on the carb.

I did this conversion last year on a 96 RK. You do need the cam position sensor but not the crank position sensor. I did go with the DTT but went with a Mikuni carb. The carb wiring harness for mine has been discontinued but I was able to find one. In the above list I'm not sure where they are incorporating the MAP sensor? You will need VOES that connects to the vacuum outlet on the carb. The switch over was pretty straight forward. The hardest part was modifying the EFI tank. Search the EVO section. You"ll find plenty of info in there. Lots of those guys get rid of the MM injection.
