Alright, I made the sawhorse stand tonight. Had a sawhorse in the garage. Home Depot for 6' of 1x6, 4- 3/8x3" bolts, washers, nuts, and wingnuts. Maybe took an hour and a half.
And I hear Veekness about not needing more specialty stuff in the garage (you all see my garage in the pics, I CERTAINLY don't need more stuff) but when the bags aren't on the stand, it's still a sawhorse. Just gotta make sure I don't stab myself on the bolts when I'm using it!
nice work. The only thing that concerns me is the stress on the mounting holes. Might just be the pics but looks like you bolts are angled and the bags are hanging square like they would on the bike.

Yes, I was thinking about a second lower board either to change the angle of how the bag hangs to the same as the horse and bolt, or underneath the bag to reduce some of the stress and weight. It seems strong & fine now, but I'll see if over time it starts pulling the bolts down

Maybe just an L bracket on each leg of the sawhorse to take the weight off.
Here's a cheaper and easier solution.....Go to Home Depo, Lowes, etc, pick up some clear, 1/2" vinyl cabinet door bumpers and affix them to the four bottom corners of your hard bags.
Now you can place them on the ground without worrying about paint damage.
Had 'em since I got my bike in '05. Get lots of DISGUSTED looks when I set my bags on the asphalt!
