I'm thinking about putting some new speakers in front only. I know that there are lots of options. I want good sound without spending $300 or $400.
What have some of you guys put in? Pros & cons.
Thanks
If you are just doing speakers with the stock HK head unit and no amp ya need 2 ohm speakers. Infinity/JBL make some good 6.5" co-ax 2 ohm speakers. Add some arc/Merta speaker adapters and call it good. Check out the audio section. This has been beat to death.
Add speakers and a amp and life is good. I have a ARC 125.2 mini amp for sale. Ran it for a couple years before i went 4 channel. PM me if your interested. Oh yeah i have Focal in the fairing and Memphis Audio in the lowers.
My left speaker had gone completely bad and the right wasn't far behind...I don't expect great sound out of a motorcycle stereo, so instead of fretting about it and worrying about amps and getting super prices, I opted for easy peasy, drove three miles to the dealership, and got a set of BOOM speakers and slapped 'em in. They work great for me. Big difference over stock, and I'm happy. Could I have maybe gotten better speakers, or better sound by getting an amp and better speakers, and for a better price. No doubt. Do I care? Naw.
The speakers in my wife's 06 Ultra started going bad so I bought new Hogtunes speakers for her bike. I think they sound way better than stock and she's happy with them. I'll probably replace my speakers with Hogtunes speakers one of these days. I'm sure someone will come on and tell you how bad they suck and that I must work for Hogtunes to promote their sucky product. Sometimes I don't know why I bother giving an opinion of a product.
