DTT and PhilM
dalton, dont waste time with any of the dyno boys...that DTT will dial it in within 100 miles so much better and then youre new build wont get wanged on wot by some dealership dyno flunkie
maybe I will hit up the wife for a WEGO on my bday in may...
You guys are worse than crack dealers....give me just a little "virtual taste" and leave me wanting more!!!
Peace!
Kevin and I did an initial tune with the SERT and Twin Scan II+ which yielded 83 hp and 93 torque--our target numbers are 90/90 with the HQ-0034's and "terrible" (Doug's word) Rinehart TD's.
With the DTT, when you manually change fuel or ignition, does it have a data mode like the SERT to calculate hp and torque? If it doesn't, how do you know if the change was beneficial from an hp and torque standpoint?
Thanks for your consistently helpful posts and sharing the fun y'all are having in Texas.
Sounds like the tune is coming in very well! That is with an 88", not 95"... right? VERY Nice!
Not personally having a SERT to play with, I have a moderately limited knowledge and familiarity with all of it's funcionality. Some of the same can be said, with regard to the DTT, as I am only begining to learn (certainly not Master ~ yet) all of it's capabilities.
I do not know of a HP/TQ estimater in the DTT. I DO KNOW that my bike and Byran's bike are both running better (smoother, stronger, etc) than ever. For the sake of camparison, I do plan to put my bike back on the same dyno it has always been tuned on to see how it measures up "post-DTT", but not until the logging and BLM (delta) tables indicate that the tune is very close and no longer making very many changes.
I do not dispute the capabilities of the SERT, espically in the hands of someone as incredibly SHARP as Kevin and with the addition of the TwinScan II+, it's even better.... "but", the DTT does it all for me AND it keeps the "State of Tune" crisp over time, where-as a static tune will always degrade with time and conditions.
btw - now I have those silver wheels just sitting in the garage...
may wanna re-visit that conversation...???...
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
The only issue we had with it was that it was WAY lean in the beginning.
His has R&R heads, HPI 55mm TB, & V&H true duals. Other than that... It's much like yours.
Sorry... I failed to mention to everyone that you had provided a base MAP for us to start with..... THANKS!
