Default best Fairing Windshield for 2up riding?

Gents,
new to the whole fairing thing, went for my first ride today on my 2012 FLHX, and ended up holding my sunglasses with the left hand at speeds 60+. It seems that the screen that's on the fairing now re-directs pretty much everything right at my face. As I'm expecting to do at least 50% of my riding 2up - what are the recommendations for the best windshield?
I'm 6'2", and have a Mustang seat on my Street Glide.

I personally like the Long Ride Shields. I would suggest going to there website and watching the video on how to measure what size shield is best for you. Although I don't have the flat top shield from them I have seen a number of posts about who good they are for 2 up riding.

I have a pretty wide variety of shields. I switch them out depending on my type of riding. I will say the most versatile shield I have id the Harley Windsplitter. The one I use the least is the stock 12". Most of the time I either run the Windsplitter or the Street Glide shields.

If you want to control buffeting, The things I found that cures it is not the shield (trust me look how many shields I have). The combination of fairing wings, fork deflectors and the fork baffle cured it for me. I can run that 4" shield without buffeting issues.

Here is a comparison of all of my shields for you: Street Glide 4" - Stock 12" - 10.5" LRS X-Streme - 15" Memphis - 10" Clearview recurve - HD 10" Windsplitter.

Welcome to the forum...long ride shields have some pretty good deals so you can try a few and keep them for different riding occasions. I have a flat top but took it back off as it was just a little shorter than it probably should have been and my wife felt more buffeting. I put the stock back on and she was better with that one. you might want to check out your local stealers, they sometimes have demo windshields you can try.

At 6'2" I run a 7" fastaire recurve that works well for me but I like some wind. I have a 9" fastaire recurve that has been on my bike once that I will sell if you want to try it. In the summer I run the stock 4"

Freedom Shields are the best that I have used. Great company to deal with too. You return it for another size as long as you leave the film on it.

I added a fairing to my RK about a year ago. I've always just used the standard windshield it came with (shaped just like an OE HD windshield) until recently.

While in Daytona. Few weeks a to we (my wife and I) stopped by the KW booth to learn a it the benefits of their windshield. She was particularly interestead in calming the beating winds that she felt. She's 5'9".

After spending some time, talking to other customers we decided on the 8.5". I noticed an immediate difference when we headed out. Radio was more clear, much calmer winds for me. But more importantly she also had a tremendous reduction in turbulence for her.

In summary I cannot speak for the other ws mentioned on the thread but I can give you a positive review for the Klock Wreks windshield.

Cheers

Not a stupid question. Takes time to get everything adjusted to your style.
I run a 6.5 Klock Werks on my Street Glide, and a 8.5 Klock Werks on my Ultra. Have used others but always came back to KW. Its a matter of preference, If you look through, or over, like a little air or none.
