Don't really have the funds to do a complete exhaust, tuner and filter right now. But the stock exhaust on my ultra classic is too quiet. What's everyone's opinion on loudest best bang for your buck slip ons?
Cycle Shacks are loud and annoyingly loud if you remove the baffles. Don't get me wrong I love the sound with baffles on but at times it annoys me because they are so loud on longer highway runs.
Had Vand H fishtails on my 03 RoadKing. They did not have the quiet baffles and were relatively loud on long rides to the point of giving me a headache. I sometimes used earplugs or stuffed some kleenex in my ears.
I also got a fair bit of popping on decel. These were not supposed to require
re-mapping on a stocker.
This time I am thinking of doing it a little differently. Have a set of brand new 2014 CVO 4 in pipes and am going to go with fulsac 2 in. baffles with the screens and insulation on my Electraglide. According to Fulsac -no mapping required unless you go to the bigger baffles. We shall see. This seems to be the cheapest route to get a custom set up with a little rumble.
Another consideration is the fat fines for exceeding 80db whereI live.
I second that......I believe Thunderheaders may be the loudest pipes on the market.....Had them on a 2000 Road King some years ago and they made the bike sound like it had a big block chevy motor in it
