I've had Iso Grips on my last three bikes and really like them. No issues. Throttle Boss is handy in a group ride. Also have had the same set of Kury foot pegs on the last two bike and they are working fine. I like the looks.
But that's about the only stuff from them I could justify getting.
My opinion is that they stand behind their products.
If you have purchased one of their items and it fails due to what ever reason you can go to them at a rally and show them and they will 9-10 times replace it, no questions/receipts needed.
Try that w/HD products and see what happens.
You cannot even take back an item at your local HD w/out a receipt even though they have it in the computer that you bought it from them.
As far as "some of the most god-awful looking crap you've ever seen" well as they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
On the other hand you could very easily say that some of HD's crap should not have even been put on the bike it is that cheap. Why did they even bother?
There are only so many manufacturers in the world and HD and Kuryakyn much of the time buy from the same one.
They have the manufacturer change the package.
Nothin' wrong with after-market parts.
If you think OEM is where it's at, you've been drinkin' way too much of the Kool-Aid.
I say to each his own. I have seen some weird stuff on bikes at shows and gatherings, and in magazine articles, but if you don't like something, don't buy it for your bike.
I have exactly 3 Kury pieces on my Street Glide, they all do what they are supposed to, and I think the High Five Mach II A/C as pictured on my bike is one of the cleanest and leanest looking air cleaners out there.
As a matter of fact, I like it so much I put one on both my Street Glide and Super Glide Custom. I've had nothing but compliments on them, from a broad spectrum of fellow bikers.
So, for what it's worth, here are a couple pics.....
I have in the past found the occasional piece from them useful (mounting bracket, highway pegs), is it just me or is 99% of their stuff some of the most god-awful looking crap you've ever seen? Who designs this stuff? I'm not speaking about the quality of it, simply the look of it.
What's your opinion?
My opinion is their stuff is crap. Poor quality and crap chrome.
I hate their crap, that's why I only bought their:
Grips
Brake and Clutch lever clamps
Master cylinder cover
Brake caliper covers
Oil cooler cover
Engine chrome cover
Tranny cover
Motor mount arm cover
Shifter linkage
Shifter arm cover
Inner primary cover
And bag latches
Oh yeah, and heat deflector chrome trim....
Oh yeah, and their tail light
Its actually funny reading all the negatives on the Kuryakyn stuff and that Harley stuff is way better yada yada yada. Kuryakyn actually makes Harley's chrome pieces. Imagine that.
