A Heritage Softail is another option.

 

Electra glide classic.... For me was most bang for the buck,,, I have added the cruise, CB/INTERCOM, lowers so it's more like a Ultra now but took 7 years...If you can find a ultra with removable tour pak would be the best way to go. On trips you will like the locking bags and tour pak...Street glide has nice height for a shorter guy though...Test ride some different models. You local dealers should have some used ones around.

 

Well gents, for what it's worth, I should be the proud owner of a 2013 Super Glide by end of week. one of my fellow workers is trading in his 2013 SG for a 14 SGS.... he's done a few things to it (V&H exhaust, race tune, intake, with dyno sheet 80+ hp, 93+torque...going off memory) 6550 miles, and it has pretty much what i want. offered him what the dealer offered for trade in.... if he's happy, then i'm happy!
Hate to say this, but you just might have another SG owner in the group. if that happens, i'll give y'all a brief history on me.
