Trying to do some fiscal planning here and I have a dilemma. I just picked up an 09 electra glide classic back in December and I have yet to add anything of significance to it. I live in the D.C. area and I have decided that I need the Wards FCS fan. Also, I know I would like to add a Tall Boy seat. I need opinions. I know what opinions are like and I know that everyone has one but I want yours. What should I buy first? The fans or the seat? I go through stop and go traffic nearly every day and need the fans but I am also planning a 7 hour trip to Myrtle Beach for bike week and need the seat too. Most likely I can only buy one before the trip. Thoughts?
Comfort first. That works two ways in your case I guess. Both the fan and seat would increase comfort. For me I would say the seat first. The reason being if you aren't comfortable that means you won't ride it,then you won't need the fan anyway
Hey Jarhead; (me too. '73-'96 and I was stationed at the puzzle palace '82-'85...)
The temps are warming, but won't be real hot for a bit. Bike week is May 8th > so I would get the seat. S/F

I'd vote a good seat. Are you sure the tallboy seat will provide that much comfort. The one I had on my heritage was a typical HD seat and rode like one. Maybe the touring models are better. I have since went after market on seats and have become much happier on long rides.

Semper Fi Top. Went to OCS in 96' did 5 active and have been plugging away in the reserves ever since. 2 mobilizations and an overseas deployment later and still loving it. If the puzzle palace you are referring too (there are many) is the pentagon then I prefer to call it the 5 sided wind tunnel. Either way you understand the traffic.
HeavyMetal, excellent point. The short answer is no. I have called my parts guy where I purchased the bike and he said to come in and they would go ahead and mount the seat to see how I liked it and go from there. I think the tall boy is a start point. I do need some space though as the boys are cramped.
I think I was leaning toward the seat anyway but your input is invaluable. Thanks guys.
Def Mute; I can assure you that 'Jarhead 88' has his priorities in order... it is required in the suck.. we have: 'wetting downs' (promotion parties); wet birthday parties; wet going away parties; liquid lunches; etc; they require mandatory attendance... YOU WILL GO; AND YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME !! Just be ready for PT in the morning......
