Default UltraCool Reefer vs. Wards Fans.

Trying to decide between these two products before the heat of the season becomes an issue this year. Seems most users like their Wards Fans but haven't seen any feedback on the UC Reefer cooler. Obviously, the Reefer unit is an oil cooler with fan so it cools the oil rather than just blowing air on the CH which in turn should internally cool the engine. The Wards Fans blow hot air away from the CH allowing them to cool. Anyone have experience with the UltraCool unit ? My concern with the Wards Fans is that while cooling the CH temps, the fans will be blowing the hot air right onto my right leg so I will continue to feel the heat from the engine. Just trying to get some insight from others before deciding. Thanks....

Also, what about Love Jugs? Kind of big, and I'm not sure I like the look, but if the heat issue is that bad during the summer they might be something to look into.

If you are looking to get relief from the heat on your right leg I would suggest one of our crotch cooler's. They are much easier to install and less costly than the other products that you mentioned.. We have thousands of satisfied customers..

I just installed the Wards fans last night and looking forward to a ride with them today. I did a test run in my driveway and they seemed to really do the trick coming on and off with the thermal switch. $250 with forum discount and $270 if you get the thermal switch. Money well spent I think and 30 minute install even with removing the tank.

I run both, the oil cooler (Jagg) with fans, and Jason head fans. they work great in temps of 105 F. and stop and go traffic in town.

I felt more heat from the left True Dual pipe 10x more than anything I've ever felt from the Wards fan. It is a non-issue IMHO.

I have the *** fans and no oil cooler on a 2010 Ultra with the 96. I can let the bike idle in the florida sun with the fans on (or stop and go traffic) and the bike stays in the 235 range. I have not noticed any appreciable heat on the right leg from the fans. I am also running a decatted head pipe.

You will feel it some. Last year 98 degrees, stop and go for 2 miles I did feel the air on my leg. It was hot air but at least moving air. That movement cuts down a bit on the radiant rising heat so a fair trade off. The main thing is 2 up stop and go... 98 degrees and no EITMS! If you have had that kick in on a hot day, stop and go, you know what I'm talking about. It's a pita. Big marketing gimmick that does next to nothing except make the bike chug and sound/feel like it's crapping out. FCS fans the greatest thing since Stoli and ice IMO.
