I am getting dizzy reading about the SE Compensator. My 2009 Ultra Classic has 55,000 miles and still runs great. No primary noise and no starter kickback and shifts smooth. Should I go ahead and change my old style Compensator on my next oil change? How about the primary chain tensioner. Is it also time for a Hayden M6 ?
I wouldn't worry about it, I fell for the same hysteria, mines a 2010 and at 10k I bought the se, my stock was in beautiful shape and didn't notice any difference.
Forgive me but how do you know when you need to change it?
My 08 Ultra has 15,000m had 2800m when I bought it in 2010. It have had a knocking type noise in the primary area when you let out the clutch without giving it any gas, like when you move around at very low speed in the garage, maybe just laboring.
Sometimes it will turn over slow like the battery is low, after a ride. when the engine is hot.
Are these symptoms of a bad compensator?

Yes except the slow cranking issue but a bad comp will eat up a starter.
