Doing some long distance traveling...looking for a quality windshield for the Electra Glide....somewhere in that 9'' category ....anybody have suggestions on brands to look at? Heard some good things about Wind Vest Windshields and Freedom Shields, but thought I would turn to folks who actually use the products instead of advertising them
I have the LRS brand Recurves on both of my bikes -- one has the standard Ultra, the other has the Ultra for 2 up riding -- which my wife noticed the difference in wind flow -- she has ridden behind me on both bikes -- If needed, I will purchase more LRS
Windshields are much like oil - we all have our opinion -- I had originally thought I would get Fast Aire --but when they didn't return my emails or phone calls -- I went with LRS
What year Glide? I sold my 2009 Ultra and have a couple of LRS recurve shields in a couple of different heights I'll sell VERY reasonable, excellent condition. PM me if interested THE SHIELDS ARE SOLD!!

I agree with all suggestions regarding LRS screens. I have gotten two within the past couple months, one with custom etching and couldn't be more satisfied. James replied promptly and over the course of a week, helped me tremendously and shipped quickly. Quality product and great correspondence.
I've got a "12 limited and put a 8" LRS recurve dark tint shield on because the top of the stock shield bothered me. The 8" LRS is perfect for me. Wind goes over top of my head and I can see clearly over the shield. It also looks good on the bike (vivid black).
The real test was the 1000 mile iron butt I did with that shield. Absolutely no problems.
I have an LRS light tint, 8" polycarbonate Ultra on my Street Glide, and the last time I rode it I was seeing a rainbow pattern across the middle of the shield. I contacted James and he responded saying it was a common problem with the polycarbonate shields. He asked what kind of glasses I was wearing, and I told him I had polarized,anti-reflective lenses in my prescription glasses. I really like the LRS shield, but not too crazy about the rainbow effect. Anyone else have any experience with this ? And no I had not been smoking any thing.
