The right side heat shield has always bothered me since I put on the Fullsac true duals. Wanted to share the fix. Bought the extended heat shield for the front section ( HD makes this but I bought one on e-bay from american classic for half the price ). Then turned the second section back around to the stock position ( it then meets up with the extended front ). Then purchase a straight 12 inch section of heat shield from JP. It will overlap the second section and cover clear to the muffler inlet. At last, it looks clean.
woohoo! pics are good! I just got my Fulsac recored muffs back today...i installed them and MAN! I cant wait to take it out for a ride (its raining here) I fired it up in my garage and it is DEFINATELYlouder than the stock ones. I will be getting my tru dual kit from Steve in another couple weeks. I will post pics...
THANKS for the tip on the chrom on the right side! I have been wondering what i was going to do about that myself...i think that the rattle can method is a good start!
I bought the extended front piece from a member here and used his long section, since he changed to the VH setup. Took his long and my long sections and cut the curved end off so they are square on each end.
Update on the fullsac pipes....You can now order them in a BLACK finish. I told Steve that I was going to spraypaint the rear cyl pipe and he said that he would run a set of black pipes for me since they had not gone thru the ceramic coating yet. I think that he did about 2o or so. Give him a call and ask about them if you are interested. No need to paint them and worry about it flaking off...the black is a ceramic coating that is good to 1600 f. I cant wait to get mine... i will post some pics when I install them.
