How do you build a "route" on your computer, whether using Harley ride planner or Mapsource or what ever, and then transfer it to my SGS. when I try I don't get the route as it was built. Just the waypoints. Then I have pick my destination/waypoint and the bike GPS creates its own route. Which may or may not be the way I want to go. What am I doing wrong?

Plot a whole bunch of via points along the route. You can't just drag the route and expect the GPS to know that. I plot from start to a spot about 80 miles away, and then another 80 miles, and so on until I hit my destination.
I use this software to plot routes http://tyretotravel.com It works with TomToms and Garmins. It comes defaulted to TomToms, so you have to change it to Garmin in the menu.
I use the Tyre software for my TomTom, as mentioned by Shooter. You do indeed have to put in several intermediate waypoints, otherwise the gps uses its internal system to work out the route, which can be different to your intended route. I'm plotting my routes for a visit to the USA as I write!
They Tyre software is good. If you're transferring to your SGS, then you have a 2014, so are you trying to download to that? The built-in infotainment GPS only holds 10 waypoints and isn't much use for route planning.
I use "myscenicdrives.com" . You can export to Garmin or many other GPS formats. I open the file in Garmin Basecamp. Make any corrections and download to my GPS. Works great.

What I doing now is naming the waypoints (first, second, third and so on) then just drive to them one at a time.. My garmin zumo I can build a route on my computer and just dump it and it comes up as created.
