Default RE: StreetGlide Reduced Reach Bars...

I just finished putting a set of Wild 1's (FLH) bars on my 07 Street Glide. I love them, it took a while since I had to do the inside wiring for the hand controls. It takes some time but its not all that difficult. You have to pull the radio to get to the clamps. If you don't have to do inside wiring it should be a snap. Only issue with the Wild 1 Bars is the extra rise, it put my knuckles right in the middle of the fairing mounted mirrors which limited visibilty soI ended up adding mirrors to the controls. Tip!! I used the Harley Skull 1/4 oz wheel weights to cover the holes left by removing the faring mounted mirrors. Doesn't look great but its better than seeing the holes.

How much did the wild1 bars change the angle of your hands on the bars? I'm currently looking for a new set of bars for my 07 SG and everyone that has installed the wild1 bars seems to really like them. My main concern is I'd like the new bars to straighten out my wrists while riding so that they aren't bent so far.

Haven't looked at the reduced reach bars.

I put wild one/chubby's electra glide bars on my ultra...made a huge difference, no more stretch for the bars, and my wrists felt a lot less cramped up. Like ocglide said tho, they take a bit to install, running the wires inside the bars and taking off the outer fairing is not for the faint-hearted!

I installed these a year ago and I have dug every mile with them. I hated the stock bars. The mirror blockage is a minor issue. You should be doing a head check anyway.

OK going to tackle the bars today, The only thing I'm wondering about
is the Brake Line, Did you know HD wants 118.00 for one "they say"
You'll need.. and then the cables.. Total over 300.00 to swap out
a 49.00 set of bars..

Can we all say " Marketing Strategy '?

Well " I Know there is enough cable and wiring to do this.." I am just
concerned about the Brake Cable...

Any Comments??

Well got er done... the new bars are very comfortable, I would recommend to anyone who is experiencing
Shoulder or lower back pain..

Changing the bars on a Streetglide to reduced reach bars is an intense job, requires removal of the
faring, radio, lower switch housing, tank dash, seat.. All controls (of course)

Some special tool may be required... Snap ring pliers, Ball Allen Set... and Torque Bit Set...

If your using you original cables and brake line, they till have to be re-routed and checked numerous times for
turn radius interference.. Brake line has to be re-shaped to gain length and follow the bar... (carefully)

Altho a tough task, it is worth the outcome..

So I take it that you did not have to replace any of the cables or the brake line??
