Does the 06 road glide have a neutral safety switch or a kickstand switch so they can't be started in gear or with the stand down in gear? If so mine are not working, Scared the heck out of me after parking the bike in gear on a slight down hill slope and forgot it was in gear when I went to start it standing beside it. Thanks for your replies. [sm=smiley16.gif]
No it does not have anything like that on an 06 bike. The only bikes that come with safety switches are the police bikes and 07 models...But even those dont have a kickstand saftey switch, just clutch.
No sidestand safety swich on my 06 FLHT, and believe me your heart will skip a beat the first time you start it in gear without the clutch pulled in, the design of the Jiffy stand keeps the side stand deployed without folding up and dropping the bike, or in my case it did. Now if I leave my bike in gear (on an incline) I use the kill switch to turn the motor off. That reminds me I left the bike in gear and to pull the clutch in before starting.

i just make it a habit to always pull the clutch in when starting whether it is in gear or not. most of the time i don't start it in gear anyway, but i just don't trust that little green light
The question is... Does anybody know how to bypass the neutral saftey switch? I find it more dangerous not being able to find neutral on the road if I happen to kill it than starting it with the clutch in. I know, I know... Don't kill it.... Unfortunately, it has happend to me twice on the new bike.

I dont care if the green N light is on. I'm with you, I still pull in the clutch...

... and the front brake.
For the OP, the accessory which prevents starting the bike in gear while it is on the side stand is a pre-market part installed between the rider's ears.
