There is absolutely NO reason for the dealer to keep your SERT. You should get a cable with a black box thing on one end, and a disk. Never allow the dealer to keep things for you. There is no reason that it makes sense. What if you sell the bike, or want to go somewhere else to have it worked on?
Make sure that they give you a sheet as well.
Sorry to disagree with your post, the dealerdoes have averygood reason to keep your SERT, to keep you dependent on them and only them.Get it before that dealerloses it or goes out of business.

Unless you purchased a copy of the records and X-Ray copies, you don't own them. The dental office does. The actual physical records and X-Ray films are the property of the dental office/dentist.
I agree Ted, the bottom line is IF you can find a good tech that takes the time to do it right. I would bet that most places the same 3-4 hours becomes less than 2 hours. Good techs and service departments are very hard to find.
