Yes again ( and since we've settled the "Oil Thing" )
I have done yet another mod-
I like the high beam and spot* option...and i also like the ability to flip high to low beam and have the spots come on as i switch.
My default riding in the daytime in high beam on, spots off- I leave the switch in the on position, if I want to attract attention, I can switch to low/spots on and maybe establish my position in traffic.
But cruising in the boonies at night, I want high beam and spots on to see the javalina and burros on the road.
So, on my FLHTC, I have added a 2nd spot switch on the left side- the FLHTC has an open position which on the Ultra is for rear speakers or ejector seat or something.
the stock switch does exactly what it always did.
the 2nd switch adds spots to high beam- so on all the time.
wiring is as follows
black is ground
the "yellow" on the switch is attached to the orange/red over by the acc switch
the grey/ black is spliced into the grey/black from the original switch.
this does have one questionable effect where the spot lights potentially are on 2 circuits with separate fusing.
But I have the best of both worlds.
We'll see how I like it over the summer, I am going to be doing some commuting between Phoenix and Vegas over the next few months and will be riding early mornings and late nights when it is coolest

* yes, Spots, that's what it says on the switch.
"passing lights" are usually on a momentary switch, so can be flashed to pass. Although most drivers on US highways are too stoopid to know what that means.
So instead of just getting the harness that allows spots on with highs or low that you can still turn on and off the spots with you added a second switch that turns on the spots when just the highs are on? How many times do you have to play with it while riding at night to know if your lights are working correctly?
So, since I have the adapter to allow the spots on with hi beam. If i want the spots off, I turn one switch off, if I want them on, I turn the same switch on. You, on the other hand, have two switches that must be turned on to run your spots w/ hi beam. You win.
Excellent way to work it...it becomes intuitive if it's something you've designed and built... I have opted to make my spotlights...you are correct, they are NOT passing lights...operate from the original switch as a simple on and off.
