Default Elite 3 tires ??
I have a 2000 FLHT and put a Elite 3 on the rear and front 9 k ago.How do I know when this tire is wore out? It only has the one big curvy rain groove.

good question...i have about 25,000kms (about 15,000miles) on the rear and the tread looks pretty good...i never got that much out of any of the previous stock dunlops..

Can I ask where you got it? My google-fu has failed to find an Elite 3 in the older bikes size.

There should be wear indicators on the grooves that pass through the center. That is how I knew mine were done, plus the sides were cupped pretty bad, and it was riding like crap

There are wear bars in the tread just like any other tire.

When you can't hear your stereo over the tire hum. My E3's hummed like a sonofabitch. Couldn't wait to take them off. Didn't impress me a bit.

Plus a tread depth gauge works too. One "curvy tread groove" is all you need.

dunlop has started making the american elite in sizes for pre 09,think they are replacing the e3 with them.
