The TH pipes are very loud. No one wants to ride behind me. My EVO is stroked and performance wise they breathe very well especially on a heavily modded engine.
I am considering changing mine to something quieter because of the many local noise ordinances. I have been warnedand the fines are steep, so I'd rather invest the "fine" money into the cost of new pipes and tuning.
I have Rienhart slip ons on my 02 Road Glide and love the sound. I have Thunderheaders on my 05 Deuce and love that sound. That being said, the Thunderheaders are much loader than the Rineharts, particulary with the Stage 2 Big Bore kit.
If you don't want to be too load (and loudness is becoming a big issue in certain communities) I would go the the Rienharts. It's a true classic Harley sound. When twisting the throttle the sound is loud and strong but quiets down when cruising.
