2014 Road King, put Street Cannons on about 500-750 miles ago and just noticed about a 1/8" gap between muffler body and tip, left side only. I bought them from one of the name brand on-line dealers and I guess I will have to contact them regarding a replacement. For those that got replacements, did they replace both or just the bad one?
Supposed to receive a replacement set today. If I knew this was as bad as they would get, I would consider living with it. Since I don't know if the "innards" will come further or completely out, I chose to hopefully get a new, unblemished pair. I also have no idea if the defect could have any affect on back pressure or need to tune. I do have some popping on decel and wonder if the left pipe issue could be influencing that.
I'm on my second set of Street Cannon mufflers and heading for a third. There is a gap between the muffler body and the end cap on the left muffler. it fit perfectly when I got it but as soon as I put some miles on, the gap appeared. This is only on the left side muffler - the right side is perfect. Anyone else have this problem? I love the sound of these mufflers but I'm tired of dealing with this obvious manufacturing defect.
3rd set, I'd have to cut bait and choose a different muffler - providing the dealer will give you full credit, and not just credit for 1.
Notice they have been "out of stock online" for quite some time on the HD website. Makes me wonder if they had some kind of supplier/quality control issue that is hopefully being detected and corrected. The common theme seems to be problems on left pipe. I would hope that if they did have a "bad run" they would reach out to purchasers and offer relief. Replacing bad pipes with bad pipes doesn't solve the problem not to mention the time to remove/reinstall, cost of new muffler clamps, etc.
