I used a stock handlebar for a heritage softail classic on my 02RG. Everything fits well because the bends are the same as the stock bar, but is nearly 2 inches taller. This works very well because full lock turn clearance can be an issue with some bars on a RG. These clear the tank and fuel console very well, and are a lot more comfortable than the stock unit. There is enough cable and wiring for these to fit.Add the extra tall windshield and you're all set!
I HAVE THE WO509= BARS ON MY ROADGLIDE YOU WILL SEE MY BIKE AT THE WILD ONE WEBSITE.I'M 5,9-210 AND THESE BARS R GREAT I HAD TO PULL THEM BACK A LITTLE IN THE PHOTO THERE TO FORWARD.
Pull up the Harley Bar spec chart and the "Wide Glide" give a little more up & back then the Heritage S/T bars. I put the W/G bars on my 06 R/G, $30 chromed from Zanotti's. There are a couple of trick to make the stock cables work. Do a search under the touring section and you get the "tricks" listed from previous post. if not, shoot me an email & I'll shoot you some pics and what you need to do.
I am 5'6" and have both the 513's and the 517's - I have installed both and give both a good work out - I actually like the 513's better but my lower back is NOT firmly in the seat (I am just a little forward) the 517's put me firmly back into my seat - the grip angle took me some getting used to - now after several months - I am fine with them.. The 513's are in storage and doing just fine - If I ever have any work done on my seat and can change the seating postion - the 513's may come out of storage...
