Im curious,how many hours should it take for an average mechanic to change cam chain tensioner shoes ,cam bearings ,and re & re rocker boxes?

Denco----SE hydraulic cam plate & Hi flow oil pump
Quick Install push rod kit
99-06 T/C inner cam bearing
cam bearings
roller bearings
fuel filter kit
TC cam spacer

Labour 8 hours on a 2003 Electra Glide Classic with 60,000 kms.. I also went out to Jarz and picked up the Baisley pressure relief piston and spring and had Denco change the SE one for this.

Harley has a manual which tells the mechanic how long something should take, that is usually how most shops give you the labor cost. Most HD shops follow it even if the process is done in less time.

Flat rate to replace cam support bearing/cams/secondary cam chain/tensioner is 4.3 hours. Cam bearings would add about .4.

For a guy not accustomed to this work, I think it safe to double the factory flat rate... Also, if you get the adjustable pushrods, you can easily knock an hour plus off the time. When and if I do this job (will probably have my Indy do it) I'll get adjustables...
