I'm currently waiting on a set to come back from "Chrome That Hog" (forum sponsor). I'm not to worried about getting junk wheels back as they are inspected and certified from what I'm told.I would give them a call and ask a few questions.
Rick - I am also thinking of sending my wheels out for chroming. Please let us know the turn around time, quality and cost thru Chrome That Hog. Down time is an issue.
I noticed that you said downtime is an issue for you. I can certainly understand that - especially this time of year. You might want to consider going the route that I did. I bought an extra set of Street Glide rims on eBay for $230 in mint condition. I took them to my chromer and kept riding for the 3 weeks that it took for my rims to get chromed. Then I installed the chrome rims and I sold my stock rims on eBay. Just a suggestion.
Good idea Doug; I'll keep my eyes open. What did you pay for chroming stock wheels? Just back from a loop around Tahoe; beautifulbut a litte brisk on top.
You can also buy a set and get your core back when you return yours. I will be using this company when I get mine done. I am going with "Black Chrome".
