Wtf!!!
So this morning I go to the HD dealer to get an inspection sticker and he checked my bike out and everything and the last thing he checked was the rear tire And i saw him double checking my tire ( I only have 760 miles) an he calls me over and says you have a nail in you tire, I said can you plugged it, he says no. So I asked what do you do? He said you have to replace the whole tire I was like WTF!!!! So my question is.... Has anyone ever plugged a tire or is that a no no?
Why would you want to plug a tire in a bike? Car tires and bike tires are not made in the same way. Plugging a tire on a bike when your not really in a dier situation is just unsafe. Not to mention cheap.
Not recommended, but you can do it if it's near the centerline. I purchased an ESP and the next day went to the dealer and the same thing happened to me...but my replacement cost me $50. Pretty good timing.

Why replace the tire, especially when it`s nearly new? Couldn`t you just put a tube in it and it still be safe? What am I missing here? After all it`s just a nail, not something like a large screw or larger object.
I doubt any above board shop will plug them anymore for liability reasons. I think it says in the instructions for a m/c plug kit its only to get you to a shop for replacement. I would recommend installing Ride On tire sealant and plug it if it is not towards the edges. But knowing you have a hole that could fail is bothersome, I ran over a piece of muffler heat shield the car in front of me lost and left a 1/2" cut in my new rear tire that I had to replace.
