CAPAV8R, I think dgreen nailed it. Ive got 79k trouble free miles through 28 states on my 09 and it runs better now than the day I rode it off the showroom floor. 700-800 mile days 2 up, when we are in a hurry to get there, we typically stretch stops out over 200 miles. The only thing holding us back is 60 hour work weeks and family commitments. Tire mileage is better than a wing, 30k front, 18k rear. Yeah, I got the Iron Butt too, Albuquerque to Lake Havasu and back, 1100 miles in 16 hours. Nice beer run.
Thank you! Your last sentence truly reflects a good gut feel over the analysis. I happen to be an engineer and a pilot. Sometimes the data is not as critical as the outcome... and sometimes it is the outcome. A couple more months and I can do the rental. The timing of this has me down. To get jacked up at the beginning of summer and miss most of the good weather sucks. Seems like the season of my electric suit gets longer and the warmer months seem shorter. Oh well... Again, I do appreciate your insight!
