I have a vacation home in Fayetteville, and my '14 SGS lives there. I just got back yesterday from spending some time down there, and put on a number of miles on the new bike.

As others have said, pick a road and ride it. Some of the better roads are HWY 16 (underrated by many sites, but this IS one twisty road!) June 4-8 the Pig Trail south of Hwy 16 and north of I-40 will be packed with music goes to Wakaroosa(sp?) Music festival, so STAY AWAY! North of 16 I would think should be good. Travel to the Jasper area where 74 and 123 are. 123 south to Mt. Judea (pronounced Judy) has a set of switchbacks to be experienced. South of the switchbacks to hwy 7 is a lot of fun.

There are so many other roads I could go on and on. A good resource is a Butler Maps Ozark edition. They have all the roads highlighted.

Have fun!!!
Scott

There is way too much to see in that area of Arkansas to try and see much on a weekend jaunt. To me one of the best things to do for such a short stay is to go east of town to Hwy 21 IIRC. (ask directions) and head South to the Wildlife Refuge that is on the left side a few miles down. It takes at least a few hours to see and then keep going South. You will come to a old tyme mill that is still in operation since before the Civil War. They let you watch as the grind all the grain which is available for purchase. They have a old restaurant upstairs that serves some bowls of the best beans and cornbread you can eat. It was burned during the Civil War to keep the Northern aggressors from using it. When you leave there go East across the bridge towards the town of Rogers. Go North on Hwy 71 back to Hwy 62 and head East back to Eureka Springs. If you have time you will go past a Lake by the name of Beaver Lake. It has a dam and the road is full of scenery. The best thing is that they have a mom and pop tour boat that takes you around the lake and gives you it's history. You can dip a glass into what appears to be a light green tone of water and the glass will contain water so clear and pure that it is drinkable. Last but not least, they have a German restaurant in town that serves the best duck dinner that you may buy. You do have to call ahead that day as they limit how many are served. You have to have a call in or you can't get this worthwhile meal. You may however go and enjoy the many other dishes that are served. Later Fairshake

Looks like most of the rides have been covered. I am from Joplin MO and NW Ark is just about the only place I ride. Ponca to Jasper is incredible, so is Talimena byway, Hwy 7 south of Jasper, the peel ferry, on and on. The good rides are too numerous to list. Stay away from MT. Nebo. I drove up it in my truck and was glad I wasn't riding. Only one way up or down and it is f**k**g treacherous! I got too much money investd in OL BLUE to lay her down on some crazy *** road like that. Maybe on a more nimble bike, but not a heavyweight. Enjoy.
