Default 06 touring voltage regulator

Got my recall notice in the mail and I had my voltage regulator replaced by the dealer the other day and noticed on the work order that they did a download? "Program kit, code 090". Does anyone know what this is?
Thanks,
Gary D.

I had the regulator replaced on my SG yesterday - they didn't say anything about a download at the time, but I also see the "Program kit 090 on the work order. Are you sure that it's referring to a download? It might just be the code for the regulator recall or something. I was right there when they did it, and I don't think they ever hooked up to my ECM.

The dealer told me that is what the factory was calling the recall.

I was just guessing it was a download. On the workorder they are charging the Moco $198 for the regulator and $35.70 for the program kit. I swear my bike is running hotter after it's visit to the shop. I was just wondering what the program kit was. Not to mention they charged me $95 for a state inspection-$30 for a sticker and $65 for the labor.
Thanks,
Gary D.

The program load is a tracking program from the MOCO. They are trying to figure out who is making un-authorized EPA modifications to the bikes by looking into the computers. This is not only for future warrente denials, but is a joint effort with the EPA to track down offenders.

Look out for the black van parked across the street from your house!

My work order doesn't even have the $198 on there. Just 35.70 for the program kit and 70 for 1 hour of labor. 0 charge to me, of course.

When a dealer does recall work, they have to download the ECM with the recall code so that when they plug in to it they can tell if you've had the things done or not. In this case under notice M1204 the program is 0902 for voltage regulator recall. Therefore they download the program code into the ECM so that they will know that it was performed on your bike. At least that is what I believe it is.
