You can tune the heat out of the 255 cams but it's some work to get there. But in general I agree they run on the warm side.

Just some more food for thought, whatever you desire to attain, and whatever cam you land on, keep exhaust in mind as well. You ain't gonna make tons of torque with true duals.

True duals have limitations but those V&H true duals your running are the worst of all the true duals out there. I got the information first hand from Jamie at FM today in fact.

Running V&H true duals you'll lose about +10 of HP & torque.

I like my Red Shift 575's. They come on about 2200 and they don't stop.

I have 222 in my street glide and the 777 in my softail. Can't go wrong but whichever one you go with your gonna have to open up the breather stock won't give it enough air

That is what people say but I can say it was more than that on my bike. Enough that I had a really hard time pulling 6th gear with the 96. I did not have them on the bike more than six months.
