Owned a 2008 Ultra which was sold and now own a 2012 Limited. Also own a Jap speed bike and a while a go I began my transition towards the "Sushi" bikes. I did enjoy the power and speed but did not last too long.
To my greatest surprise, I am back in love with my Limited even more than before and I have a regained a new appreciation for HD bikes. Hell, I am thinking about selling the sports bike and getting a Fat Bob to hop around in town.
I think my wife put some HD Kool aid in my coffee. She loves my (Her) Harley.
Now I fully understand that saying " If I had to explain it you would not understand" or something like that
That is why I never listen to a "Harley Hater" who has never owned one. They have no reason to hate, since they have nothing to base their hatred on except maybe jealousy.
The Fat Bob is a fun ride, I owned a 2010 before selling to buy my SG. Not a fan of the new look Fat Bob but those 2008-13's were great.

It's kind of like being married for a few years, you see that pretty little thing running around, you take it for a test run or two, then you start remembering all the reasons you chose the wife in the first place. Of course in this scenario sometimes you don't! The big difference is your Harley won't kill you or take all your property for riding a "Sushi" bike.

I'm glad you're back in the fold.
ROFLMAO!!! Great analogy!!! As groupw says... sounds like you speak from experience, lol.
There are a lot of pretty little bikes. For coolness and comfort, however, nothing touches a well-polished HD with hopped-up motor and suspension, and killer audio. Nothing.
This is the risk with the move to liquid cooling. I do not believe liquid cooled motors with ugly radiators will ever look or sound as good as air cooled.
HAHAHA. Well I have all types of bikes. And I have to admit I bought my first Harley in the winter. And when spring came and I rode it the first time I thought I made a huge mistake. Those were the shovel head days when they shook like a paint shaker. However a week later I tried to ride my Jap bike and it felt like sitting on coke crate instead of "in" the bike like a Harley. Love them or hate them I only ride HD now and I love them. My 2 cents
Rode japanese bikes since 1985, bought a Dyna May of 2013, traded up to Streetglide 3 months later. I can't explain it and I don't care why but the Harley has put the fun back in riding for me, and my wife likes it, she loved her sport bike, but she enjoys the HD so much that when we pay off her car this fall she is getting a fat bob.
