I haven't ridden much over the last couple of years, for various reasons, but recently serviced Buttercup, my Buell Firebolt, gave it new tyres (and wheel bearings FFS) - now THAT was a shock getting back into the saddle! Haven't been very far on it yet.....

'Most all IC engines like cool dense air, they will run better in those conditions.

To me, (agreeing with the other posters here) proper hydration is key to comfort on the bike. So is (as we all know) setting the bike up to fit.

From the sound of these posts, I would think that we are all getting a "little long in tooth."

Getting old is not for pussies, but it beats the alternative...

I can relate to on/ off days, where 75 mph is not something I am into for 3-4 hours so I dial it down to 65 and relax.

Hydrate, I found this to be pretty important on a daily basis.

I haven't tried it yet, but from what I've heard, I think I'll pop a couple of Aleve before I even leave for my next long trip (I just turned 61 and am still trying to log 15,000 to 20,000 miles per year ...)

I'm one of those who get no relief from Aleve, however 3 Advil is part of my regular suit up routine and I also keep a supply in my saddlebag.

Not that old at 46 but I've bent, broke, twisted, sprained and strained a lot of **** in my lifetime. It bites me in the *** on occasion and it usually depends on the weather. There's drugs to fix that. Better living through chemicals I always say.
