How much shock oil?

Replacing my friend's OEM 13" shocks on his '01 Road King with the same kind of shocks. How much oil goes in each one and is there a parts store oil I can use or does it take a special Harley oil?

I use Amsoil shock therapy #10. My 12" SG shock had 6ozs. but put back 7ozs.in ea.
You need to drain each shock to figure out how much they hold there is no capacity chart to look for.

13" shocks hold 10oz per shock.

Mine had 9oz each.. I also used Amsoil #10 shock therapy

These are the exact shocks used on honda gold wings. Their factory manual specifies 12.5 oz when replacing the oil. You can also but rebuild parts for these shocks from honda. Why harley pretends they cannot be rebuilt, I do not know.

I drained both of my 2002 13" roadking shocks today. 12oz in each. I plan to install Bel Ray 7W fork oil in both and install on my street glide with 1" LA Choppers lowering kit

I have 12in shocks on my ultra n it seems to ride hard no matter how much air I put in it may if I change oil it would do better what's max amount of oil I can pitt in it
