Maybe they will loan you the switch since you're teaching them something.
When it totally dies, key cycle is not required. And it's not really angle induced. If I make the nose dive with the front brake the engine ignores it. It's only the rear brake circuit.
I would think, if it's a short, it is also shorting to another wire like the kill switch, Has the bike been converted to internal wires in the bars or other mods? Been in a wreck with tear down and replace repairs or any sockets had the wires pulled and replaced for pulling things apart?

Bars replace when new with Heritage bars..... in 2011

I was.... bike's going to the dealer under ESP. Really bad timing. Was going on a 3000 mile trip in 24 days.
My 10 road glide did something similar and it was the rear brake switch. Heat caused it to malfunction. Once switch replaced problems went away. I did not have abs.

I tried unplugging the switch..... still died. It's the dealers problem now.
back to the bars...did you by chance solder wire connections?
soldered connections don't hold up well with vibrations.
I posted before about this ( and been "corrected" ), in my experience soldered wires will part right where the tinning ends, the strands flex and break one by one- heat shrink can hide this.
i learned this lesson the hard way when I made a wiring harness in the 90's
Did you have the rear brake switch changed under the recall? My Roadglide Ultra is a 2011 and had that switch recall. The replacement was covered by the dealer and did not take long at all. Hope they try that and it works for you.
