Default Installing LEDs

Finally getting around to installing LEDs. Have a Biketronics BT801M and Custom Dynamic Dynamic Ringz for the front and 1157 Red LEDs for the rear on order.

In order for the most hassle free installation, is there an order I should install everything in? Like Load Balancer first, test regular lights to make sure it all still works, then install LEDs, then test again? Or LEDs first, make sure I get to the fast flash, then install the balancer?

Thanks!

I just installed LEDs everwhere (headlight, spots, turn signals) last week. I used CD kit for the front and rear blinkers. I intalled the LED blinker bulbs first, and flipped the lights on to confirm they lit up and blinked too fast. They did, so I installed the load equalizer (from CD). Everything went very smoothly, no problems at all. Took about an hour and a half, but I'm insanely methodical! Could easily be be done in 45 minutes or less.

Agree....install both front and rear CD LEDs and the equalizer. that should not take long. and really is simple to do.
I searched on line and found a truck light Phase 7 for less than $180 shipped. Also installed plasma rods as run/turn/brake and that was more time consuming. There are threads here that will help with everything, although the CD LEDs and truck light are really quite simple.
I also installed driving lights, but went with the std HD bulbs....felt the price of LED driving lights, and the limited selection, were not worth it for me.
And i highly recommend you purchase the factory service manual and a notebook to record your work. I record general maintenance, oil change, tires, accessories, repairs. Everything I do to the bike is recorded. That way you can keep track of what's been done, when, and mileage.

SO, not that anyone is really following this thread or cares, but just to follow up, I installed the Biketronic's equalizer first. Then tested the light to ensure they all still worked as is. Then installed LEDs.

When I powered the bike back up I hit the right turn signal, which blinked regular a few times, then fast. Then I hit the left blinker, which was fine, then back to the right, which was again fine. Tested them a couple of times and the hazards. No fast blink.

Was very easy and is a great upgrade. Highly recommended (not cheap though...).

I too upgraded to LEDs... Custom Dynamics front and rear, and Daymaker Reflector. I am amazed by the difference. And even better, others can see me!

It's worth the cost if it makes you more visible!

The 1st mod I made was Custom Dynamics red LED's in the back and Dynamic Rings in the front with smoked lenses. The advantage I had was having a 2014 with the CANBUS which eliminates the need for the load equalizer, so for me it was just a matter of changing the bulbs and lenses.

I too did the CD LED's all around with a load equalizer. was real simple and a pleasure to do......... I'm still torn on which headlight to go with, the Harley Daymaker reflector or the truck light.......... any opinions????

I went with the Trucklights headlight and spots. Really happy with it! The HD (Daymaker?) light just looks too weird to me especially when it's off. The Trucklight has a nice smoked lense that is INSANELY BRIGHT when lit up. You will want to install a set of headlight visors (lots of choices out there) since the Trucklights stick out from the housing a little which looks like a goofy finished product. Not a big deal for me since I was intending on installing visors anyway. If you want I might be able to get some pictures
