Need throttle response
Ok here's my set-up....2009 flhx, 96" with SE211 cams, SE a/c, Python true duals, v&h high outputs. This thing pulls hard from about 2700rpms on up, but my "off-idle" throttle response is a little crackley and studders a little. What can I do or add to help with my throttle response? Torque cones perhaps? Thanks guys.
the 211 is a mid to high rpm range cam.
the true duals are also better performers at high rpms than low.
so i think what you are experiencing is typical of that set-up.
are you married to the 211's and true duals?
you could easily research other cam and pipe setups online by looking at dyno sheets - look at the torque curve, and ensure that the bike tested is a touring model so the weight is correct and with a similar gearing ratio to your bike

I love that setup on my 08. I wish those cams where in my Rushmore. I lost only a little tiny bit of bottom with the 211s in a 96. You may need some tuning. I dynoed 95 105 with those cams in a 96 Bassani Duals, Super Sucker. As you say nice pull in the 2,800 to 5500.
Yes I have the SERT and it has been dyno tuned...they told me that the 4 1/2" v&h high outputs would cause some of that low throttle response and I would lose some torque.... My results were: 87hp and 91 ft/lbs. but that thing pulls hard
I forgot to mention that I do have the SERT....they told me that those v&h mufflers are causing some of my low end problems due to lack of back pressure. I dynoed 87hp and 92 ft/lbs

Did the SERT modify your throttle program? Stock the computer won't allow full throttle until rpm is above 3000 regardless of twist grip position. I can't help with the stumble but this might be contributing to the power surge above 3000 rpm. Many of the guys who rode with cable throttles for years notice the slow response and complain.
Big City Thunder QQ baffles restored my low speed throttle response - it feels like an electric motor now. This is with Fuel Moto 2-1-2 head pipe and 4" V&H slip-ons. It is a lot quieter as well. Joe
