I was not able to take my time and wait for the best deal on some used parts since I am impatient, so some things I know I paid to much but the results are unreal. I ordered the CCE kit to add a 2002-2007 swingarm, with their new pivot axle. Off to EBay and I picked up a swingarm with 1" axle, 03 caliper, a 03 belt pulley so I could keep my belt, an 04 RK wheel, 04 brake rotor. I picked up all new hardware, nuts, bolts from the dealer. Got a rebuild kit for the caliper so I knew it was fresh. New rubber bushings to top off the new swingarm kit. I ordered new 1" wheel bearings, and new swingarm bearings. I know I am forgetting a few things because I do it have my list next to me but feel free to ask.
Bottom line, when it was done and I took it out for a ride, an instant noticeable improvement. I had to take it easy a bit because remember what started all this....needed a new tire. But, I was able to put a few hundred miles on this weekend, man what a fun ride these bikes can be when they are working right. My bike is a 98, should not be much different than yours, I will gladly say that the money spent was worth every penny. Any questions...let me know.
Oh and for those who say you have to get the bearings pressed, I almost went and bought a press but after reading all the other forum info, and asking a lot of questions, I used a small vice, and a BFH, the fit is snug but not bad, things slid right in. Good luck.

1. Your swingarm axle is smaller in diameter than the later swingarm uses, however there are kits available with suitable swingarm bushings to bolt right up. Don't try to drill the hole in your trans casing to take the bigger swingarm axle!
2. Your current brake caliper won't easily transfer over to the later swingarm. It adds cost, but I used a later wheel and caliper. Your current brake rotor won't swap over to a later wheel either. I was lucky and got all my parts from a trike conversion, which included all the parts I needed in a single package, secondhand off Ebay.
3. As I got a free later spec narrow pulley in almost new condition I swapped to the 1 1/8" belt, which allows me to use a 150/80 tyre. (I cannot lie - a 160/70 now, but that is another story!)
4. Any questions, do ask!

That's what I did plus the cash I saved by bushing the stock spacers paid for a set of ProGlide Isolators with 17-4ph stainless pivot bolt. Used Permatex high temp bearing mount 64000 to secure the bronze bushings inside the stock spacers.
I purchased a 2007 takeoff swingarm complete with 1" axle, wheel and tire, brake caliper w/good pads. two of the bushings, rotor and pulley and new pulley and axle bolts for $250.00 shipped.
