I'm new to HD and purchased a 94 HD Electra Glide Ultra to try before we "Invest" more money, Although it slow, I like it. What I don't like is the brakes.... It should brake but it dosen't.
So what's best? replace the std single pots with 4 or 6 pots "at a price" or fit braded hose,s and some after market pads.
Best 4 pot's?
Best 6 pot's?
Best pads?
Speak to me guy's as I'm off on a charity run for two days at the end of the month for a kids hospital and would like to upgrade the system by then.
try going to floating rotors and a more aggressive pad. Change the brake fluid can help, as will good quality SS braided lines that prevent hose expansion.
Well, does your 94 have dual front disks? If so, the cheapest bang for your buck in order, new brake fluid and a brake bleed, less than a hunred US, then better pads, pushes one hundred US.After that, your talking steel braided line, close to two hundred. After that hundreds to go for floating rotors, although, probably not needed after you do the aformentioned, why? Physics. This thing weighs over 500 Kilos, it's never goind to stop like a road bike, however, doing the simple things can make it so you can lock the brakes up fairly easily.
I would just add this to what beemer said.
Ive never actually done this but one of those brake kits. cheap as well and should be easy to do yourself. (seals in brake cylender..?) was just about to do this on my last bike but gave it away to a charitable organization for resale.
