Default Bag for a Tour Pak without a rack

I added a chopped tour pack to my Street Glide a little while ago and I would like some more storage for some weekend trips that the old lady and I want to take.

I don't have a rack on the tour pack and I don't especially care for the looks of the rack on the chopped pack.

Does anyone make a bag for a tour pack without a rack?? Any pics or experiences would be great. Thanks!!

I think anything you put on there would destroy your paint.

I have the airwing rack on this bike- had the premium on the last.

the airwing looks better and has a LED kit...but the premium rack kit held my stuff better.

I don't like the looks of a tour pak rack either. I'd simply protect the lid paint by using a fluffy cotton towel between it and whatever bag I bungied on top.

I use drawer liner under my bag ontop of the trunk. Then bungie it down to the rack underneath the trunk.. worked great for my 500 mile ride

t-bags makes a t-bra specifically for this purpose.

Even with the T-Bra for the tour-pak or a soft cloth between the lid and the bag, I'd think that it might dull the finish over time due to the constant vibration. I'm an amateur painter who is pretty finicky about my paint. I look for stuff like that and then I get out the buffer and polish the dickens out of it. (It's terrible having OCD. ) Anyway, the one time I needed to haul something on my tour-pak lid I first applied a piece of clear plastic laminate (shelf paper) to it. Packed the stuff and rode for a few days. Got back home and peeled it off. Easy peezy!

Just make sure that your lid is completely clean and well waxed before using the laminate. You don't want any crap between it and the paint or it could scratch. You should also make sure that it is a "low tack" laminate. Some laminates are real sticky and hard to remove. Don't ask me how I know that.

I've also used some thicker clear plastic that has no adhesive to it at all for similar applications. It sticks like those old Colorform cut outs we played with as kids. It's much thicker and is also easy to remove.

Just a few ideas and options to consider...YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary)
