I've got 2 weeks vacation starting Monday...

For the right coin, I'll fly up and ride it to you.

Why wouldn't you know the separation between IA & AL is >500 miles...especially when bidding online...?? Suck it up and fly-out/ride-back...JMO.

i live almost hour from there. do paperwork and i'll pick up for you. headed to TN first of the month and you can pick it up in TN lol

riding it home would not be a bad day at all. i do the 750 to TN pretty often and do it al in 1 day wit hno issue, you could do 500ish one day and 400ish the next and you will be home. good way to get used to the new bike

Keyboard is awesome and trouble free if you decide to ship. The ride would be a nice one...

900 interstate miles on a touring bike is not a long weekend. Man up and ride your bike.

If it was me, I would want to see the bike before I left the dealership. If there are issues, it would be a pain to deal with it 900 mile away. Just curious though. I haven't checked bike values in a while, but were there not bikes for sale in your area ? Even if you save a few dollars, retrieving the bike can eat up a lot of that savings.

I think you could ride 900 miles back no problem if you got to the dealer first thing Saturday. Highway riding sucks, it would be better to do it in 3 days of secondary roads, if you can get Monday off.

As far as your shipping question, I shipped two road kings back from Hawaii to CT. First time the dealer crated it up for Federal (AMA/HOG carrier), and another dealer uncrated it, and replaced the broken clutch lever for free. Second time I went with another company who drove the bike onto a special pallet and it was delivered to a friends business. There was a slight rub on one saddlebag that may have been there before? Cost including the boat ride was $1200-1300. The first time the HI dealer said they would ship to TN with a bunch of their bikes for $700 but my job wouldn't fly me to TN on my return trip. Joe

I'm with the others - a fly and ride makes for a great memory. You can inspect the bike in person and it will save you some coin vs shipping. That said, the airport in Dubuque is tiny and it's probably not a cheap flight. I could be wrong about that.

Congrats on the new bike.

There are about 6 dealerships within a few hours of me. I had been to all of them and there bikes were in the 18k to 20 range with 20,000 miles or more. They also didnt have the selection. I was looking for a really good buy.

The time I would have spent to continue to go around wojld have been too expensive. I also work during the day all over the state so the only time I had to look was at night.

I feel like I got about 4-6 thousand cheaper than those I seen locally. I sure hope it wont cost me that much to bring it home.
