Grab a trailer and a friend to share the driving duties. I bought my Ultra in West Memphis Arkansas and got there and home in two days...(950 miles away)
Thanks for the advice. I could take the time off and do a 2-3 day ride back. If there was not an issue shipping trading the cost of flying up time off cost from work fuel to ride back vs shipping I would do the better value.
I do like the idea of a rode trip and an excuse for one. It might be cheaper to rent a car to drive in than to fly also. I hate flying.
I also agree to see the bike first before delivery otherwise if there is damage during shipping how would I know.
I thought all dealershops shipped also. But the info I got from this dealership says they dont so it is up to me.
No offense, but I just can't see buying a bike unseen without a thorough check & extended test ride, but that's me. Not so much because of a problem the dealer didn't tell you about, but there may be issues with the bike that you don't care for, even though their techs said it was OK. Wasn't there anything closer?
Anyway..I used Allied to ship my FXSTC from NYC to Florida when I moved there. Not one issue. I was very impressed with the way they immobilized & packed the bike for the trip; their trucks were designed inside just for that in mind. Got here without a scratch. Course that was 15 years ago.

I would agree that would be crazy for anyone to buy a bike 900 miles away sight unseen and no test ride. A used bike at that. Oh wait I just did that. 😆
I figured with an ESP I would get it fixed trade it in or sell it and try again if there was a problem. Wife Thought I was crazy too but just said whatever you saved a bunch of money.
Congrats....It might be better to try and find a INDY carrier...by the time you get a airline ticket, spend the time taking off, the cost might work out to be about the same and it would be less hassle to have it dropped @ your front door...Although I would want to fly n ride it back, but thats just me though...
